GHMC to provide volunteers at wall of kindness
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has recently introduced a programme called ‘wall of kindness’ and the department is now planning to provide volunteers at the place where the wall has been established.
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has recently introduced a programme called ‘wall of kindness’ and the department is now planning to provide volunteers at the place where the wall has been established.
To help the needy, GHMC had opened around 50 such wall of kindness centres where people can offer their unwanted things like cloths, books, utensils and other materials at the site.
Most of the donors requested the GHMC officials to make sure that the things donated are to be used by the needy only. For that, the GHMC is now in a plan to provide volunteers at these centres in near future.
The GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy asked the senior citizens, retired employees, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and others to come forward and to provide volunteers to work voluntarily. He said that directions have been given to Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC) to provide shelters and other essential things at the wall of kindness centre for the convenience of the needy and the donors.
