Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has come to the aid of a 11-month-old boy suffering from liver-related ailments and sanctioned Rs 25 lakhs from the CM's Relief Fund for his treatment.

The boy, Devasani Sriman hailing from Gajwel has been ailing since his birth and the doctors had informed the boy's parents that a transplant is the only solution for him.

Sriman's father, who runs a printing press was struggling to acquire the funds for the treatment. After coming to know of the boy's condition through media reports, KCR asked the Siddipet District Collector, Venkatram Reddy, to look into the medical facilities that should be provided for the boy.

The Chief Minister released a cheque for Rs 25 lakhs for the treatment on Monday and it was handed over to the parents by the Collector.
