Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Employees Union (GHMEU) has threatened to go on strike `Baldia ko Bachao’ demanding regularisation of the services of the outsourcing employees and to stop privatisation in the civic body.

The union has put a set of demands before the government and demanded the government to stop privatisation in the municipal body. Union president U Gopal, in his statement issued here on Tuesday, said that the union has supported the TRS party hoping that contract employees would be regularised once the new State is formed.

He reminded that KCR himself had promised many sops for the outsourcing employees before Telangana was formed. He alleged that instead of fulfilling the promises, the State government was privatising different wings of GHMC one after the other.

Few demands include regularisation of the contract, NMR and outsourcing employees working with GHM, issue of health cards for all employees, pensions, salaries to Swachh Auto drivers, lands for employees, double bedroom houses for sanitary wing employees, promotions to the eligible fourth grade employees and provision of new vehicles for garbage collection works.
