Prepare new operation manuals for irrigation projects, babus told
Telangana State government had decided to prepare new operation manuals for all the irrigation projects in the State for optimum utilisation of water
Hyderabad: Telangana State government had decided to prepare new operation manuals for all the irrigation projects in the State for optimum utilisation of water.
At a review meeting here with the Irrigation, Agriculture, Mission Bhagirath and Revenue officials, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao instructed the officials to prepare operation manuals which would help to ascertain the utilisation of water for mission Bhagiratha and the need to form a Drinking Water Front with the State as one unit.
The Chief Minister also instructed them to prepare estimation on the requirement of water for power generation from the irrigation projects. For this purpose, Power Front of Telangana would be created.
“We will give top priority to the drinking water from the projects. For this, we have allocated 10 per cent of water from all the reservoirs for the drinking water purposes,” he said and added that there is a need to prepare new operation manuals for all the irrigation projects.
There should be clarity on how much water should be given for irrigation, power and industries, he said.
