Hyderabad : GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan on Wednesday informed that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has completed the tender process for the construction of one lakh units of double bed room houses for weaker sections.

Talking to reporters here, the Mayor said that the GHMC would be the country's first municipal corporation to construct one lakh houses for the poor. He said the double bed room houses would be constructed in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Sangareddy and Medchal districts at a cost of nearly Rs. 8,000 crore. Each 2BHK unit would be of 560 sft.

The construction of double bed room houses was at IDH Colony in Bhoiguda where 396 double bed room houses were constructed and handed over to the beneficiaries. For the coming Diwali three colonies are getting ready for house warming ceremony where all beneficiaries will be getting their houses for the ensuing Dussehra and Diwali festivals. The Three more colonies at Mansoorabad, Arukala Nancharamma Basthi and Lambadi Thanda at Nacharam will be ready by coming Diwali festival.
