The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials on Wednesday said three more colonies of Double Bedroom houses in city would be ready for inauguration by Diwali festival.
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials on Wednesday said three more colonies of Double Bedroom houses in city would be ready for inauguration by Diwali festival.
The double bedroom houses at Mansoorabad, Arukala Nancharamma Basthi and Lambadi thanda at Nacharam are nearing completion and would be ready in a month or so. Officials said the beneficiaries would be allotted their houses soon.
Each double bedroom house measures an area of 560 sq ft, furnished with necessary amenities. Municipal officials have claimed that the double bedroom houses scheme was successfully materialised by counselling people in slum areas and constant interaction with the locals.
GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy in a statement said the initiative behind the double bedroom houses was to deliver houses to people by the coordinated efforts of five Collectors and different government departments.
