The students pursuing courses in colleges affiliated by the University, took to protests after 1,500 students were detained for failing to clear the exam with the minimum number of credits.

The students are demanding advanced supplementary examinations to be conducted and relax the detention rules. The decision in this regard needs to be taken by Monday after the issue was taken to the University officials set a deadline.

The decision will be taken by the principal of the engineering college and the controller of examination."
