Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday laid the foundation stone for the construction of over 6,000 houses at Rampally in Keesara mandal.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the idea of the double bedroom housing project is to help the poor gain self respect.
He said that the scheme, brought up by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was being implemented at a cost of Rs.18,000 crore adding that no state so far, has come up with such a massive project for the poor.
KTR asserted that the state government is committed to the welfare all sections of the society.
