Hyderabad: Cultural Advisor to government of Telangana K V Ramanachary on Thursday said the State government encourages the folk artists and gives them their due recognition in every possible way.

The government had provided all the artists and their family members with health insurance cover worth Rs 2 lakh, he said. He was speaking at the closing ceremony of World Folk Day celebrations at Ravindra Bharathi on Thursday.

He said artists will also be provided with concessional bus passes. Rashtra Janapada Sangham president Srinivas Goud, artist M Srinivas, TSS coordinator Sandeep and others attended the event. Artists from different parts of Telangana including Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Vikarabad and Medchal participated in the World Folk Day cultural events which began on August 22.

Samskruthika Sarathi organisation launched a CD called Savadi audio on this occasion.
