Hyderabad: Health Minister C Laxma Reddy on Friday said the State government was planning to construct super specialty hospitals on the four sides of Hyderabad to cater to the growing patient needs in the twin cities and adjoining districts. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had conceived the idea of building hospitals around the city, he said while visiting Cantonment Hospital at Bolarum in Secunderabad.

The Health Minister, who came to the hospital on a suggestion from Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao, said the State government would take over the hospital to provide improved health services in the area. It may be mentioned here that the local leaders, including MP Malla Reddy urged Rama Rao to take over the hospital maintenance on behalf of the State government.

The Secunderabad Cantonment Board was not able to maintain the escalating costs of the hospital and services were not being offered to the full extent, he said. Within 15 days, maternity and delivery facilities would be in place and related services would be started, the Minister said.

Though the hospital had adequate equipment and machinery, people were not getting health services as desired, he said. To provide better and corporate level health services, the government was planning to take over the Cantonment Hospital, he remarked. He also said the KCR Kits would be distributed from this hospital in the locality.
