Hyderabad: Governor E S L Narasimhan on Friday greeted the people of two Telugu States on the occasion of Bakrid (Id-ul-Zuha).

"Bakrid holds immense significance in the Islamic faith and is celebrated across India and all over the world with great enthusiasm. The Bakrid symbolises sacrifice, absolute devotion to god and compassion for the poor. It also emphasises the principle of sharing what one has with others,” the governor said in his message. “Let this spirit of charity and goodwill towards all be cherished and nourished," he added.

In a separate message, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao conveyed his wishes to the Muslim brethren on the occasion of Bakrid. He said that Allah may bring joy, happiness, peace and prosperity on this blessed occasion.
