Hyderabad: Zaheerabad Lok Sabha member B B Patil denied rumours that he was planning to quit TRS and join the Bharatiya Janata Party.

During a press conference here on Friday, Patil said that rumours were making rounds that he would be resigning from TRS and joining BJP. ``There is no truth in those rumours.

They are absolutely baseless and mere speculation by a section of media,’’ he said and added there was no question of his leaving TRS. On the land acquisition controversy in Narayankhed, Patil claimed that nearly 700 acres of land was acquired for Mega Food Park with the consent of farmers and there were no forcible acquisitions.

He said no injustice was done to the farmers in the acquisition. He agreed that the company belongs to people known to him.

The MP said, `If any farmer feels injustice was done to him, he would take up the issue and help the farmer in getting suitable compensation.
