Hyderabad: The autobiography of Chalimeda Ananda Rao, a renowned lawyer, former legislator and a business man, named `My Life’s Journey’ was released on Saturday, which also marked his 87th birthday. The book covers the life experiences of Ananda Rao which he had faced in achieving success in his life.

The book was released by the Governor of Maharashtra Ch Vidyasagar Rao. Eminent personalities like Lokayukta Subashan Reddy, Minister for IT K T Rama Rao, B Vinod Kumar, Karimnagar MP and K Ramaswamy, former Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court were present to grace the occasion and conveyed birthday wishes to the living legend.

Ananda Rao started his career as an advocate in Karimnagar district of Hyderabad State and worked as a lawyer for 20 years and also served as the President of Advocate Bar Association for 12 years. Later on, he went on to join Telugu Desam Party (TDP) after being elected as MLA from Karimnagar constituency in the year 1985.

After a brief period in politics, he took retirement and started his poultry business under the banner of Janki feeds and also started his medical college named Ch Ananda Rao Medical College, which has been conducting free health check-up camps for the needy.

The Governor Vidyasagar Rao recalled his association with Ananda Rao and said that he knew him as a legislator. `Rao always stood for great values in life and used to hit the bulls eye during his speeches in the Assembly. He is known as a man who never minced words,’ Vidyasagar Rao said that the book, which is a compilation of various memories and experiences of Ananda Rao, should become a source of inspiration for the younger generation.

KTR while addressing the gathering said, ``The book - My Life’s Journey - is not just a book but a light which may show the way to the youth who have lost their way.’’

B Vinod Kumar said, ``It is important for everybody to read this book as it shows the reality of a person which he experiences to achieve success when following the path of honesty.”

Justice Subhashan Reddy recalling his 30 years of association with Ananda Rao said, ``It would be unjust to describe the personality of Ananda Rao in words. Not only did he excel in his profession but also ensured that his relationship with the junior most people at his work place was something which made him special among everybody.”

K Ramaswamy said, “Ananda Rao was a complete enthusiast and a highly energetic man. This is one of the reasons why at the age of 87 years he has managed to write his autobiography which is highly commendable.”

The author said that he never thought he would write a book. But he had the habit of documenting his memories and when he took the printouts, he realised that they were 500 pages. He then put them chronological order and finally the book got ready. He hoped that it would inspire the youth to work hard and grow in life.
