Hyderabad: Hyderabad police will deploy in all 24,000 police personnel to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of Ganesh immersion on Tuesday, according to Commissioner of Police M Mahender Reddy.

Talking to media after a review meeting with Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi here on Sunday, Mahender Reddy said in addition to the large number of policemen, CCTVs were installed along the route where the Ganesh procession would be taken out. “All anti-social elements, rowdy-sheeters have been taken into preventive custody to thwart any attempt to disturb peace,” he said.

The Police Commissioner sought the help and cooperation of the organisers in ensuring peace. He also urged the organisers to begin the procession early to ensure that the process of immersion is completed by midnight.

The GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy said as many as 1,000 staff and special teams would be deployed to maintain sanitation. About 274 vehicles were specially allotted for the purpose. He further said in all 3,300 LED lights were erected along the procession route.
