Khammam: The Communist Party of India (CPI) found fault with the State government toying with idea of constituting village-level Rythu Samnvaya Samithis (farmers’ coordination committees), stating that it would invariably pull farmers into politics.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, district council secretary Bagam Hemanth Rao said the government’s move to establish farmers committees was undemocratic and politically motivated. “The proposed move will bring back the days of Bourgeois besides creating a volatile atmosphere in villages,” Rao said, objecting to the idea of constituting farmers committees.

A comprehensive land survey would resolve the land issues in villages. The coordination committees consisting of members nominated by the government would aggravate the situation further instead of solving the issues, he said.
