TJAC plans to hold public meeting on unemployment

Hyderabad: A meeting of the extended steering committee of Telangana JAC was held here in the city on Sunday and it was decided to organise public meeting on the problems of unemployed youth in Hyderabad in October.

The JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram said that the JAC condemns the negligent attitude of the State government in solving the problems of the unemployed youth. He demanded the government to release an employment calendar immediately, provide reservations to sons of the soil in industrial sector and to provide job security to the contract and outsourcing employees.

The JAC also wanted the government to cancel the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and continue the old pension system. The JAC chief recalled that as per the Supreme Court judgment in 1982, it is the responsibility of the government to take care of the families of the government employees, who dedicate their lives in the service of the government. He said that in the CPS system, the pension fund was going into the hands of market forces resulting in dilemma whether the employees would get pension or not.

The JAC said that the Rythu Samanvaya Samithis would be a threat for the society. There is a risk of filling up of members of party in power in nominated manner. Instead of strengthening ‘Grama Jyothi’, bringing new Samithis would only create loss rather than good to the farmers.

The JAC chief condemned the arrest of artist E Somanna. He said that the police have the responsibility to follow the law and treat the convicts as per the directions of Supreme Court. He said that handcuffing Somanna, who was facing allegations, was against the rules. The JAC would continue its Amarula Spoorthi Yatra in Adilabad district from September 9 to 12.
