50 engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have received a major setback with the announcement made by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
The AICTE has decided to close 800 engineering colleges across India including 50 engineering colleges in the Telugu states for the next academic year. The decision was taken following poor infrastructure along with low percentage of admissions in the last five years.
The colleges identified would continue classes with the existing batches but the fresh admissions will be stopped.
