The State Level Executive Committee (SLEC) of Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) and Society for Horticulture Nurseries (SHN) meeting held here on Monday. The meeting has approved the annual Action Plan for 2017-18 with an outlay of Rs 89.85 crore.

Hyderabad: The State Level Executive Committee (SLEC) of Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) and Society for Horticulture Nurseries (SHN) meeting held here on Monday. The meeting has approved the annual Action Plan for 2017-18 with an outlay of Rs 89.85 crore.

State Agriculture Secretary and Chairman of SLEC, C Parthasarathi, said that as part of the action plan, it was decided to establish Hi-tech nurseries at Government Horticulture Farm (GHF) at Kusumanchi in Khammam District and in Mulugu of Siddipet District. This would allow production of quality plants, fruits and other related materials.

The SLEC also sanctioned a subsidy of Rs 66.67 lakh for establishing two units for processing of vegetable seeds one in Medchal district and another in Yadadri district. Similarly, it had cleared proposals to establish six cold storages for storing turmeric, chillies, fruits and vegetables with a subsidy grant of Rs. 8.4 crore.
