Secunderabad: Owing to persistent complaints from citizens living close to Trimulgherry Lake, the Telangana State Pollution Control Board (PCB) collected samples from the lake. The Hans India carried a report, ‘Trimulgherry Lake gasping for breath’ on August 29.

Venkatramana, a resident said, “Fifty complaints were registered and were subsequently closed by the PCB stating that only industrial belt came under their purview. However, the citizens continued their complaints and finally the PCB resented.”

The residents have been complaining about the pollutants being let out into the lake instead of being diverted into the culvert for several years. Balraj, a resident said, “We want the Secunderabad Cantonment Board to take it up and also bring the issue in the next board meeting. Malkajgiri MP Malla Reddy promised that the issue would be taken up.”
