Hyderabad: The Sharia Faisla Board, the representative body of almost all prominent religious and social Muslim organizations of all Schools of Thoughts, has convened a meeting on Thursday to discuss the Supreme Court verdict on Triple Talaq.

"The Supreme Court judgment on Triple Talaq issue is an open interference in the Shariah. It has raised several questions on the protection and continuity of Muslim Personal Law in India. Therefore, the religious clerics need to discuss and decide future course of action to nullify the impact of SC verdict," said Tahreek Muslim Shabban president and Board Convener Mohammed Mushtaq Mallik.

The meeting of Sharia Faisla Board is being held on Thursday at Media Plus Auditorium in Jamia Nizamia Complex, Gunfoundry. It is likely to be attended by over 75 prominent religious leaders and scholars.

Mushtaq Mallik condemned a section of media for targeting the Shariah and Islam by involving a few 'so-called intellectual and experts'. "Islam has total clarity on all issues and no one should have any doubts about them. Those who refuse to accept the directions of Holy Quran and teachings of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) are automatically expunged from Islam. Therefore, one cannot oppose Islamic principles and also be a Muslim at the same time. If you are a Muslim, you have to accept and practice all principles of Islam. In the proposed meeting, we will discuss this issue and take a stand against such people who are trying to defame the religion," he said.

He said that the Central Government should consult recognised Muslim clerics and institutions to understand the essence of Shariah.

Mushtaq Mallik said several important decisions would be taken during the meeting and a basic roadmap would be prepared to counter the implications of SC Verdict on Triple Talaq.
