Hyderabad: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched an Aadhaar Mobile Van, which has been introduced to provide Aadhaar Services to the senior citizens who are having difficulty due to their medical conditions, in approaching Aadhaar Enrolment centres, for availing Aadhaar Services like enrolment/ updation.
The Aadhar Mobile Van was flagged off by UIDAI Hyderabad Regional Office Deputy Director General M.V.S.Rami Reddy here on Wednesday.
The Aadhaar Mobile Van branded as “Aadhaar on Wheels” will be operated by CSC e- Governance Services India Limited. Four such vans will run within GHMC limits, and will exclusively cater to senior residents who are bed-ridden / have difficulty in mobility due to health conditions. Similar facility will soon be available in Vizag and Vijayawada.
This is one more initiative from the Government of India, to reach out to the senior citizens living in metro-cities of Hyderabad in Telangana, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. Similar drive was earlier conducted in Rural Areas by district Collectors, with financial assistance from UIDAI Regional Office. The senior citizens in Hyderabad, needing such enrolments at their door step shall register their requirement by sending email to [email protected] or by calling 040-23119266.
The requests will be maintained in a data base, and will be covered in a phased manner, area wise, and the dates when the van will come to their location will be informed to the residents. Aadhaar enrolment or updates/ corrections will be carried-out based on submission of requisite notified Proof of Identity and Proof of Address documents made available at https://uidai.gov.in/images/commdoc/valid_documents_list.pdf.
Aadhaar enrolment is a free of cost service where as for any modification/ correction of Aadhaar details, residents have to pay Rs.25/- to the Operator, according to a press release.
