GHMC holds Council meeting
Differences prevailing among MPs, MLAs and Corporators has been delaying the nomination of Area Sabha committee members in the city. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation council meeting which was held on Thursday witnessed a few nominations filed for the committee members’ posts.

However, the GHMC council members who participated in the meeting, claimed that 146 wards Area Sabha representatives have been elected as per the resolution of the Standing Committee.
Highly placed sources in the GHMC said, cutting across the party lines, 95 per cent of corporators and co-option members expressed displeasure over the nomination of Area Sabha members. There were misunderstandings among local MLAs and corporators, due to which the members at the Council meeting announced very few names.
Before commencing the Council meeting, the House observed 2- minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed leaders MP P Govardhan Reddy and ex- Corporator Singi Reddy Srinivas Reddy.
35 agenda items ,including 11 table agenda items and other items like SC, ST Sub Plan, Budget allocations, engineering, sanitation, LEDs, advertisement, transport vehicles, dog menace, nala de-silting, Road Re-carpeting works, Corporators Health Insurance Scheme and other items, were discussed in the meeting under the chairmanship of mayot Bonthu Rammohan.
