Secunderabad: The Telangana unit of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Thursday demanded that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government to shelve the construction of proposed Secretariat building at Bison Polo Ground in Secunderabad.

In an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the State party working president A Revanth Reddy said the government should give up its proposed decision to construct Secretariat on that ground, and instead, it should construct double-bedroom houses for poor people in the city.

Accusing Chandrashekar Rao of not keeping his promises of providing housing facility to poor people in the State, Revanth Reddy said the government should commence construction of double-bedroom houses in all mandal, Assembly constituencies and district headquarters in the State. The government should give its other contract works to those contractors who come forward for taking up construction of double bed rooms, he said in his letter.
