The police informed that Khaja Sarwar Ali, a resident of Mishrigunj duped Mohd Daulath Khan, a resident of Sanjay Gandhi Nagar.

The accused had told the victim that he was well-acquainted with senior IPS and IAS officers further assuring help in any matter be it in the police or revenue department.

According to the police, Khaja Sarwar Ali took Rs 75 lakhs from the victim after promising him that a Pattedar passbook, Title Deeds and other concerned documents for a land in the Porandla village.

However, upon realizing that he was cheated, Mohd Daulath Khan lodged a police complaint on Saturday. The police arrested the accused under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.
