Hyderabad: The first introductory meeting of All India Professional Congress (AIPC) members was held here on Sunday. Coordinator of the programme and senior Congress leader J Geeta Reddy explained the need for professionals to enter into active politics.

Professionals from IT sector, lawyers, doctors and media professionals participated in the meeting. AIPC is a new political movement aimed at getting tax paying professionals associated with the Congress so that they can take direct or indirect part in policy formulation, campaign management and other political tasks.

AIPC will serve as a feeder channel of talent for the Congress, according to a press release issued here. The meeting was attended by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly K Jana Reddy, Deputy leader Bhattivikramarka and All India Congress Committee secretary in-charge of Telangana R C Khuntia.
