Intermediate student attempts suicide after beaten brutally by lecturer

An Intermediate Second year student allegedly attempted suicide in Hyderabad on Monday evening following a beating he received from his lecturer at his college.

Sanjay, a resident of Janapriya Apartments at Balapur was scolded and thrashed badly for faring poorly in his examinations. Depressed over this, Sanjay attemped suicide by jumping off the fifth floor of the apartment building.

He called up his parents before jumping off, telling them the reason behind to take the extreme step.

The family members immediately rushed him to the hospital and his condition is said to be critical. Sanjay's parents lodged a complaint against the college administration.
