Telangana Information Commission formed
Following directives from the High Court, the State government has created Telangana State Information Commission under RTI Act 2005 (Central act 22 of 2005).
Hyderabad: Following directives from the High Court, the State government has created Telangana State Information Commission under RTI Act 2005 (Central act 22 of 2005).
A separate Information Commission for Telangana has been pending ever since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. On the recent instructions from the High Court, State government initiated the process for the constitution of the commission.
The government also constituted a three-member committee to recommend the candidates for the appointment as State Chief Information Commissioner and State Information Commissioners.
The committee comprising the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali and Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy would finalise the commission members soon.
