Hyderabad: India’s first of its kind Digithon Digital Yatra organized by the Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) concluded after completing its 2500 km tour here in city.

The participants and volunteers were welcomed by the Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Telangana State Digital Media Director Dileep Konatham, CSC Vice President Raja Kishore and T Wallet Director Raman and other dignitaries at secretariat with loads of wishes.

Jayesh congratulated the efforts of TITA-Digithon for educating people in this regard. The Yatra was meant for creating awareness on digital technologies and keeping the people updated on par with the digital governance tools.

The tour also accommodated the awareness drive on T-Wallet, the first state government initiatives across the country. More than 150000 people have been registered on T-Wallet across Telangana with Adilabad being on the top. The Yatra covered all the 31 districts of the state which started from Hyderabad on September 9. TITA Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala said that it was the landmark day in the history of the new state Telangana and this initiative would prove to be a gateway to the digital future of the state. Makthala said that each and every volunteer, digital teacher and people associated with Digithon Yatra have strived hard to reach as many people as they can and made this drive a successful event.

Digital Media Director Dileep Konatham thanked and congratulated the volunteers for their relentless efforts during the Yatra that not only educated the masses on digital technologies but also gave a push to the TS government initiative of T-Wallet. He said that this is not the end but a beginning of new digital era in the state and TITA-Digithon will continue to support TS-government initiatives in e-governance for providing better services to the people.

More than one lakh people have been approached during the Yaatra and students took part in the drive with lot of enthusiasm. Small vendors, tea shop owners, hoteliers, shopkeepers, drivers, students and others were educated on digital technologies. Similarly, people were educated on transactions through T-Wallet during the Yaatra.

TITA Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala, Vice President Ranapratap Bojjam, Join Secretary Mr. Praveen Madipoju, Narasimha, Kumar, Srinivas and Kiran were part of the Yatra.
