IT Hub in Nizamabad in pipeline

Hyderabad: Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Minister K T Rama Rao said that the State government has decided to establish an IT Hub in Nizamabad with an estimated cost of Rs 25 crore.

The Minister disclosed this, when the party MP K Kavitha and MLA Ganesh Gupta met him here on Sunday, to hand over Letters of Intent (LoI), from 60 Telugu Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), who, evinced interest to start IT companies in the proposed IT Hub in Nizamabad.

KTR said that the government has been proactive in taking the Information Technology to two-tier cities in the State.
It was against this backdrop, approvals had been given to construct IT Towers in Warangal, Khammam and Karimnagar towns, he said.

Appreciating the efforts being made by the MP and MLA, KTR said that both had been pursuing the government to establish an IT Hub at Nizamabad. At the same time, they had held discussions with the Telugu NRIs abroad to invest in the IT Hub, he said. The Minister said that the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) would create basic

infrastructure within one year and the government would spend about Rs 25 crore in the first phase of construction of the IT Hub. The IT Hub will also have an incubation centre. MP Kavitha said that the IT Hub in Nizamabad would benefit young people to get job opportunities in IT.

Unemployed youth from Nizamabad and adjacent districts would benefit. She said that meetings were held with the Telugu NRIs in the cities of Atlanta, New Jersey, Dallas, Washington DC and Chicago in USA.

Several non-Telangana NRIs also had evinced interest to invest in the proposed IT Hub when they were briefed about the policies, incentives of the State government, she added.
