A 37-year-old homeopathy doctor was taken into custody on Sunday on charges of cheating.
The woman identified as Chivakula Saritha, a resident of Tarnaka, had filed a fake dowry case against her third husband. Earlier, she had filed similar cases against her two husbands and extorted money before divorcing them.
Following the case against her third husband, Prakash Rao, police arrested him on July 31.
After obtaining bail, Prakash Rao verified her background and came to know about his wife's previous two marriages while also realizing the way she extorted money from them.
Saritha married in 2005 and again in 2011 where she extorted Rs 6 lakh, 20 tolas of gold from her first marriage and extorted Rs 9 lakh from her second one.
