Governor, CM greets people on Bathukamma festival

Hyderabad : Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan has conveyed his warm greetings to people of Telangana, especially the women on the occasion of Bathukamma Festival.

“Bathukamma festival symbolises the cultural spirit of Telangana. Bathukamma is characterized by gathering of flowers and different unique floral arrangements. Flowers like gunuka poolu, tengedu poolu and other flowers like banti, chamanti, nandivardhanam etc., are arranged in beautiful patterns. The worship of Goddess for prosperity, good health and for fulfillment of desires is unique because of its association with flowers,” the Governor said in his message.

The Governor wished wished the people of both the States a happy and joyous Bathukamma Festival.

In a separate message, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has conveyed his greetings to the people of Telangana on Bathukamma festival. He said that the Bathukamma festival, which mirrors the Telangana culture and traditions, should be celebrated with happiness and gaiety by the people.

The Chief Minister has instructed the officials concerned to make necessary arrangements at the Temples and at the Bathukamma Ghats.
