Secunderabad: If adventure is your passion and you love exploring new habitats every time you visit a place, a trip to Secunderabad is something which you should look for to materialise your dream. Every time you visit this city, a new exciting story gets unfolded in front of you.

However, the crowd is so cheerful that even if you fail to understand the language, you would never feel homesick. Apart from ethnicity and religious diversities, the aura of ‘Sufi culture’ seems to dominate the air of not just Hyderabad but also Secunderabad. One such history is evident from the Dargah of Hazrat Syed Jalal Shah Baba, located on Rashtrapati Road. The 300-year-old dargah is currently being managed by the family of Zahid Hussain.

Mohammed Muzamil, dargah in-charge and Hussain family member, told The Hans India, “This dargah was constructed to continue the tradition of what Hazrat Syed Jalal Shah Baba (Sufi Saint) had started and that is helping the poor and needy irrespective of the fact what religion they belong to.” He further added, “This is the seventh generation of our family who has been managing the activities of this dargah.

Apart from this, we also distribute homeopathy medicines free of cost for children based on their sickness and also provide Unani and Ayurvedic medicines for complex health issues.” Every year January 26 is celebrated as the anniversary of Hazrat Syed Jalal Shah Baba, and on this day, food is distributed among the poor people across the area. During the holy month of Ramadan, the members of the dargah helps the people to go for holy trips financially. Not only this, they help families who cannot perform the marriages of their children financially.

MohammedMuzamil told The Hans India, “The spirit of Hazrat Syed Jalal Shah Baba is still alive. The Britishers once tried to remove the dargah and were harmed. Every care is taken to maintain the sanctity of the place, and every devotee who comes here never goes empty handed.” The inner architecture of the dargah is a fine example of Sufi art, which forms an important aspect of ancient history. The best part about this dargah is, it is located on the main road and it has such a charm that every pedestrian walking on the road gets attracted and makes it a point to visit it.

The family of Zahid Hussain is blessed by Hazrat Syed Jalal Shah Baba, as it is self-sufficient and they believe that it is a blessing god has given them the chance to reach out to the poor and needy. Mohammed Muzamil further said, “Even for the next 300 years we would continue to do what we are doing now, to build up a developed, peaceful and harmonious society as preached by Hazrat Syed Jalal Shah Baba.”
