Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy asked his party workers to display the organisational strengthen of Congress party in the State by hoisting flags in all villages of Telangana on November 19.

Addressing hundreds of Congress workers in Pargi of Rangareddy district and later in Mahbubnagar district on Wednesday as part of 'Indiramma Rythu Bata' programme, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS was waning out form the political map of Telangana. "TRS came to power in 2014 by luring the voters with tall promises. It failed to fulfill any of the major promises that it made with the people during the last three years and it has already lost the trust of common man. Therefore, the Congress workers must approach the masses, understand their problems and take measures to resolve them. TRS will be history after 2019 elections. Congress party's return to power in next elections is inevitable," he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy described TRS as a 'refugee camp' for defectors. "TRS had won only 63 out of 119 seats in 2014 elections. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao increased his strength by purchasing 25 MLAs from other parties. Many other leaders belonging to opposition parties, who were greedy for money and posts, joined the TRS. In fact, any person who was not happy being in opposition took refuge in TRS. Presently, TRS is a cocktail of TRS, Congress, TDP, BJP and other parties. This cocktail will not please the taste buds of common people in next elections and therefore, it would be rejected. This is the best time for you to contact masses and strengthen your relationship with them," he told party cadre.

"Congress is the largest party in Telangana in terms of cadre and organisational strengthen. TRS cadre is not present in almost half of the State while Congress party has its cadre in almost all lanes and by-lanes of Telangana," Uttam Kumar Reddy said while directing the party workers to hoist Congress party's flag in all villages on November 19 to mark the centenary birth anniversary celebrations of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The TPCC chief said that the 100-day 'Indiramma Rythu Bata' programme has been initiated to train all Congress workers at booth level in understanding the land survey being conducted by the TRS Government. He said that the workers should be in constant touch with the farmers in their villages so as to ensure that they do not face any inconvenience. He also asked them to collect the applications from eligible persons for double bed room houses and three acres of land for Dalits. "TRS Govt has failed to fulfill even 1% of the promises it made during elections. It is now trying to divert people's attention from its failures by conducting one gimmick after the other. KCR is also using force to suppress the voices of dissent among people. He apparently feels that people could be controlled through dictatorial and oppressive means. People will prove him wrong in next elections," he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy also slammed the Chief Minister for mooting registration of cases against women who protested against supply of poor quality sarees on the occasion of Bathukamma festival. "KCR should be ashamed of himself. He must look at the pictures and videos before branding those poor women as political activists. He implicated poor Tribal, Dalit and BC farmers in false cases and even subjected them to third-degree torture and humiliation. Now he is trying to intimidate poor and old women to suppress further protests against his wrong policies. Women of Telangana will never forget the poor quality sarees KCR gave them on this Bathukamma and also the threats that he issued to those who disliked those sarees," he said.

The TPCC chief reiterated that the Congress party, after coming to power in 2019, would waive off crop loans up to Rs. 2 lakh, provide jobs and give Rs. 3,000 per month unemployment allowance.

The meetings were also addressed by AICC Secretary R.C. Khuntia, AICC SC Cell chairman K. Raju, former Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MLAs Rammohan Reddy, DK Aruna and other senior leaders.
