Hyderabad: All is not well in the Hyderabad Collectorate. Ego clashes have reportedly broken out between the new District Collector Yogita Rana and Joint Collector M Prashanthi. The Joint Collector, according to sources, went on long leave from Wednesday. An IAS officer Nikhila has taken over as in-charge Joint Collector.

Prashanthi had, in fact, been in-charge District Collector for more than six months as then Collector Rahul Bojja was on medical leave. Yogita Rana, since her appointment, has been busy holding review meetings. Reports were in circulation that there arose differences between the Collector and the Joint Collector.

Highly-placed sources told The Hans India, “For the last few weeks there were reports that Prashanthi’s transfer is on cards. Reports also suggested that the Joint Collector lobbied for transfer.”

Yogita Rana has brought about drastic changes in the administration. She has been holding review meetings with all wings thrice in a week, directing Tahsildars to participate in the video conferences at the time when Prajavani is conducted between 10 am and 1.30 pm on every Monday.

She has also been visiting Girls and Boys Homes to make sure that the non-government organisations (NGOs) follow the rules.

The Collector is determined to ensure that the benefits of Apathbandhu scheme reach the victim’s family at the earliest. She has launched a drive to ensure that the government land is not encroached.
