Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu are likely to hold an official meeting in Amaravathi on September 27. They are likely to discuss the pending issues like asset distribution between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, clearance of the debts and the division of AP Bhavan in New Delhi.
The meeting is scheduled to take place soon after KCR visits Durga temple in Vijayawada to present gold nose stud to Goddess Durga as part of fulfilling his vows for realising the long cherished dream of Telangana State. KCR has already released Rs 75 lakh for making the nose stud.
It may be mentioned here that KCR visited Andhra Pradesh twice after formation of Telangana State. He attended the foundation laying programme for new capital city of Amaravathi last year. In February this year, KCR visited Tirumala and offered jewellery worth Rs 5.59 crore to Lord Venkateswara and fulfilled his vow.
Top officials said that KCR would visit Chandrababu’s official residence where the two CMs will hold the official meeting and review the progress in the distribution of assets between the two states. The ongoing tussle between AP and Telangana Energy sectors over more than Rs 3,000 crore dues would also be discussed in the meeting.
Officials said that the asset distribution between Telangana State Road Transport Corporation and AP State Road Transport Corporation, distribution of assets of 17 identified corporations in Hyderabad under Schedule 9 in the AP Reorgnsiation Act 2014 would also be discussed at the meeting.
As per the Act, 107 institutions were listed under Schedule 10, of which 97 are located in Telangana. Another 91 institutions were listed under Schedule 9 located in Hyderabad. It is estimated that the total value of the assets would be around Rs 75,000 crore.
The Telangana officials were already holding meetings with AP counterparts on the issues to be discussed ahead of the meeting of the two CMs. They are also preparing a detailed report on the status of the pending issues since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Source said that Governor ESL Narasimhan already took initiative in the division of assets between the two states by constituting a minister level committee involving the ministers and officials from the two governments.
The committee members Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy would also take part in the meeting.
