Hyderabad: The Met department has issued a warning to the State that thunderstorms coupled with heavy rainfall are very likely to occur at some places in all the districts on Friday. According to a bulletin, thunderstorms associated with heavy rain occurred across the State on Thursday.

The rain is attributed to the upper air cyclonic circulation over the north coastal Andhra and adjoining south Odisha and neighbourhood which now lies over the West-central Bay of Bengal off the South Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts, extending up to 3.6 km above the mean sea level (MSL).

During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Thursday, the Southwest Monsoon was active over Telangana. Rain occurred at many places across the State. There was heavy rainfall in Khammam, Warangal, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Rangareddy districts.

The total amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded in Telangana: Thollada (Khammam) 11, Nallabelly (Warangal) 8, Enkuru (Khammam), Zaffergadh (Warangal) 5 each, Wanaparthy (Mahbubnagar), Garla (Khammam) 4 each, Chennaraopet, Dornakal (both in Warangal), Nalgonda, Khanapur (Warangal), Vangoor (Mahbubnagar), Manchal (Ranga Reddy), Gundala (Khammam), Palakurthi, Gudur (both in Warangal),

Mulakalapalle (Khammam), Parvathagiri (Warangal), Aswaraopet (Khammam), Kothagudem (Warangal) Sathupalle (Khammam), Nagarkurnool (Mahbubnagar) 3 each. Rainfall of 2 cm each was recorded in Mulug, Bheemadevarpalle, Atmakur, Kusumanchi, Kalwakurthy, Narsampet, Palem, Yacharam, Chinna Chintakunta, Huzurabad, Chandrugonda, Shayampet, Konijerla, Bonakal, Hasanparthy, Palwancha, Mominpet, Bhupalpalle and Kothagudem.

Rainfall of 1 cm each was recorded in Aswaraopeta, Tekulapalle, Bayyaram, Vikarabad, Chinthakam, Hyderabad Airport, Ghanpur, Julurapad, Hanamkonda, Suryapet, Jadcherla, Mahbubnagar, Kampasagar, Achampet, Pinapaka, Golkonda, Bhadrachalam, Kosgi, Jurala Project, Khammam Urban, Ramannapet, Kaleswaram,

Kondurg, Jangaon, Manuguru, Sangareddy and Parkal. The forecast said light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at many/ few places in Telangana from September 29 to October 2.
