73 Urban local bodies to participate in Urban Green Day on Oct 12
As many as 73 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) including Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will take part in Mega Plantations on October 12 to be observed as “Urban Green Day”
Hyderabad: As many as 73 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) including Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will take part in Mega Plantations on October 12 to be observed as “Urban Green Day” for planting under Telanganaku Haritha Haram programme.
It is proposed to take up minimum 2000-5000 plants in each ULB depending upon their size and availability of the place. It is proposed to organise the plantation programme in a festive manner by involving all public representatives, SHG members, students, institutions, general public and other stake holders.
The plantations activity will be taken up on main roads, layouts, institutional open spaces, dump yards, lakes, Vaikuntadhamam and other religious places. It is targeted to plant at least 5 lakh saplings on the Urban Green Day.
