Love failure drives police constable to suicide

Hyderabad: A police constable of Hyderabad City Police committed suicide allegedly due to failure in love.

The deceased, Tani Kumar, 31, resorted to the extreme step by hanging to the ceiling at his residence in Kindi Basthi on Friday. He was a 2010 batch constable attached to Market Police Station.

Police found a 127 seconds selfie video shot on his mobile in which he said he tried in vain to change a girl. "I thought I had changed you. But you proved that women will never change,” he said in the video. The selfie video led the police to suspect that love failure was the reason behind suicide.

However, based on Tani's father G. Venkat Rao's complaint, police registered a case of suspicious death and began investigations.
