Hyderabad: The Met department on Thursday warned of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in all Telangana districts on October 8 and 9, as a low pressure area is likely to develop over north Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood during the next 48 hours. The department bulletin said thunderstorm with gusty winds lashed isolated places in all districts of the State during the day.

According to the department bulletin, the cyclonic circulation over the Gulf of Martaban now lies over the east-central Bay of Bengal, extending up to 4.5 km above the mean sea level. The cyclonic circulation over Telangana and its neighbourhood extending up to 1.5 km above the mean sea level is persisting.

During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am, the Southwest Monsoon was normal over Telangana, although rain occurred at a few places. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the State were: Kampasagar (Nalgonda district) 4, Ghanpur (Warangal), Gandeed (Ranga Reddy), Nagarjunasagar (Nalgonda), Jadcherla (Mahbubnagar), Peddamul (Ranga Reddy), Devarakonda (Nalgonda), Hakimpet IAF station (Rangareddy), Achampet (Mahbubnagar) 3 each. There was two cm of rain each in Makthal, Thimmajipeta (both Mahbubnagar), Bayyaram, Bhadrachalam (both Khammam), Eturunagaram (Warangal), Miryalaguda (Nalonda), Vangoor (Mahbubnagar) , Garla (Khammam) and Bhupalapally.

One cm of rain each was recorded in Chinthakam, Perur, Gudur, Konijerla, Nagarkurnool, Kaleshwaram, Govindaraopet, Maddur and Burgampadu. The forecast said light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely at a few/many places in Telangana on October 6, 7 and 8. No large change during the subsequent three days is the weather outlook.
