Hyderabad: L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (LTMRHL) announced that DVS Raju, Chief Electrical Inspector (CEIG), Government of India, for Hyderabad Metro Rail, conducted the statutory inspection of Overhead Electric Traction System (OETS) between Begumpet and Mettuguda Metro stations and accorded sanction for Energisation of OETS.

The traction system is fed from the 132Kv/25Kv Receiving Substation (RSS) of the Hyderabad Metro Rail at Uppal depot. Incoming supply to this RSS is drawn from 220Kv/132Kv main substation of TRANSCO.

DVS Raju after conducting the inspection said, “Energisation of the OETS will facilitate conducting of oscillation tests of the Metro trains by Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Ministry of Railways, Government of India. The RDSO team will conduct tests in this section and will issue a certificate on satisfactory tests. Thereafter LTMRHL will conduct trial runs on the Metro trains in this section.”

The sections from Nagole to Mettuguda and Miyapur to SR Nagar are already energised, after obtaining sanction of CEIG and trial runs were completed.

“It is indeed a matter of delight for Hyderabad Metro Rail Project and we are thankful to Mr. DVS Raju, Chief Electrical Inspector (CEIG) for conducting the statutory inspection and of OETS from Begumpet to Mettuguda. It is a move in the right direction as we can proceed with the rest of the statutory tests, in our endeavour to bring the services of Metro Rail to the people of Hyderabad at the earliest,” stated Shivanand Nimbargi, MD & CEO, LTMRHL.

DVS Raju was accompanied by Shivanand Nimbargi, Anil Kumar Saini, Head, Railway Systems, LTMRHL, R Krishna Swamy from Louie Berger (IE), H A Ananda from HMRL with other official from LTMRHL, Louis Berger and HMRL
