Hyderabad: Transportation of goods is likely to take a hit across the State with the Telangana Lorry Owners Association (TLOA) deciding to join the strike called by All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) from Monday in support of their demands that include bringing petroleum products under GST.

TLOA General Secretary G Durga Prasad has said fuel prices were escalating and exorbitant toll charges are being levied which amount to increase in operating costs. “There is a need to bring petroleum products under GST as this will help in uniform tax structure across the country,” he said.

There will be no loading and unloading of the stocks across Telangana, Prasad said. Transportation of goods will come to a standstill and the strike is conducted to make the Union government take note of the hardships being faced by truckers, he said.
