Secunderabad: The mobile food trucks serving mouth-watering delicacies, which are a hit among IT professionals at Madhapur, have now found their way to Mettuguda. The food trucks which are a huge hit with the IT professionals have seen a surge in the recent days with many such trucks operating from various parts of the twin cities. The food trucks at Mettuguda, where middle-class families rule the roost, have received good response due to their cost-effective prices.
The area around Railway Officers Club at Mettuguda has of late developed into one of the biggest hubs of street food in Secunderabad. People of all ages throng the area for mouth smacking delicacies.The colourful lighting and the aroma from different stalls builds up the perfect aura for rejuvenating after a hard-working day.
Shaik Ghani, a stall owner at Mettuguda told The Hans India, “Our general timings are from 6pm to 10 pm in the night. On a daily basis, there are almost 50 to 60 customers who visit our stall from different age groups. Generally, there are lot of customers over the weekend.”
Rabia, a B Com second year student from Osmania University, one of the regular visitor of the trucks said, “Having street food here is the greatest stress buster which one can actually experience. I come here every day with my friends.”
The food trucks serve different types of food, beverages and desserts including, different types of fruit juices, ice creams, panipuriand etc. Mohan, who owns the stall of tiffins and panipuri told The Hans India, “From 7pm to 9pm there is a heavy rush of customers, we have to be ready with all the things by then. Because, we do not want our customers to wait for a longer time.”
The infectious smiles of people coupled with togetherness of near and dear ones at the road side during evenings is a sight to be seen. Nishant, an employee of MNC told The Hans India, “After working the whole day at offices, we return home hungry and tired. Since, most of the food available here is cooked in a hygienic way, I do not mind coming here and taking a parcel home for myself and my family members.”
Moin, A bread-omelet stall owner said, “The customers who come here do not nag or demand like other customers in the city. They come here have their snacks and quietly leave, without creating much ruckus. And it is always a pleasure to serve customers like this.” Mohan, a Bhel-puristall owner said, “The customers who come here are like our family members and we ensure we take care of their tastes and make sure that whatever they want we make it available as their tastes matters to us the most when we are selling our food.”
