This incident took place in Nasarpura locality in Siddipet town. Sai Priya, a fifth-class student was forcibly confined within the four walls of her house by Indira, her mother for the past one month.
Indira also tortured the girl in many ways, preventing the girl from going out. Neighbours who sensed something fishy, passed on the information to the Women and Child Welfare Department officials about the situation.
Siddipet DCPO Swapna, along with her staff and police rescued the girl from her home on Monday and temporarily housed her at Bala Sadan. The mother was admitted to Siddipet Area Hospital for treatment as she was found to be mentally unstable.
