Narayankhed (Sangareddy): Telangana Joint Action Council (TJAC) chairman Prof Kodandaram called for a united fight against the State government's indifferent attitude towards unemployed youth in Telangana in the form of a huge public meeting to be held in Hyderabad on October 31, called ‘Koluvulakai Kotlaata’ (fight for jobs).

During his tour of Sangareddy district on Monday, he met the mother of Ramakrishna who died after suffering from depression, having lost hopes on the government which created inordinate delay in giving DSC notification.

Ramakrishna, who did his B Ed and then PG, got depressed after failing to secure a government job. He stopped eating for weeks and during that period he suffered from malaria and typhoid. It was during this period he passed away.

On Monday, leaders from the Congress and the BJP, along with TJAC leaders, went to meet the aggrieved family members to offer their support.

Addressing the media in Narayankhed, Prof Kodandaram said the State government was being run by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in an autocratic way and be the decision to shift the Secretariat or to build Pragathi Bhavan, he felt that Chandrashekar Rao was taking decisions overnight without taking others’ opinions.

When a reporter raised a question whether he was afraid that the State government would show its highhanded behaviour by forcefully arresting him and preventing him from holding the public meeting on October 31, the professor replied it was his constitutional right to hold public meetings peacefully and hoped that the State government would respect his right.

A meeting was also held at Baba Function Hall in Narayankhed in the evening, which was attended by all Opposition parties, caste-based organisations, Nirudyoga JAC and other organisations.

During the meeting, farmers from Kangti mandal brought to the notice of the professor how thousands of acres of their agricultural land were illegally being registered by benamis of MP BB Patil, at a time when there was a CB CID inquiry going on against the company owned by the MP'S brother and when the matter was lying in the Supreme Court.

Earlier during the day, Prof Kodandaram also toured Zaheerabad constituency and interacted with farmers who are going to be displaced due to National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) coming up in Jharasangam and Nyalkal mandals, for which more than 12,000 acres of agricultural land is being acquired by the State government.

Former MP Suresh Shetkar, Narayankhed MPP P Sanjeeva Reddy, JAC leaders Ashok Kumar, Beerayya Yadav, Satyanarayana and others participated in the Narayankhed meeting.
