Hyderabad: The TRS has decided to press its student front -- Telangana Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi (TRSV) -- into action to take on the criticism of combined opposition on various issues, including the campaign that the government had failed to create job opportunities in the last three years.

TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandraskhar Rao, who held a 3-hour long meeting with the TRSV at Telangana Bhavan, told them that it would be the responsibility of the 130-member committee of the TRSV to take up the responsibility to strengthen the party.

The CM’s meeting with the students assumes importance in the wake of the call for a united fight given by Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof Kodandaram and the proposed public meeting by him on October 31 called as ‘Koluvulakai Kotlaata’ (fight for jobs).

KCR called upon the students to visit the projects like Kaleshwaram and study the activities taken up by the government and explain to the people, especially farmers about the government’s efforts in ushering in ‘Bangaru Telangana’.

KCR said that the party would give importance to the youth and if the number of constituencies are increased more number of youth would be given party tickets. He also told them that soon the youth in the party will be nominated to various posts within the party and will be given greater responsibilities.

He said in the last elections two youth leaders had contested for Assembly and one of them had won. Similarly, it had also given one Lok Sabha seat to Balka Suman. This time, the TRS president said, more importance would be given to the youth wing. But for that the youth have to take responsibility and see that they effectively counter the opposition tirade against the government.

However, KCR who always said that his surveys clearly indicate that TRS would win 100 Assembly seats comfortably and may win a few more if it makes more efforts scaled down the number to 80 seats. He told the TRSV members that the party would comfortably win about 80 seats and would require to put in some more efforts to win another 20 seats. According to a TRSV leader, the party president told them to concentrate on these 20 seats.

According to Telangana State Technical Services Chairman Ch Rakesh Kumar, KCR gave clear guidelines on how to take on the opposition particularly on the issues of creating employment for the youth.

KCR said that the major achievement of the government to ensure 24-hour power supply to industries has now created a situation in the state where more jobs would be available for youth.
