Hyderabad: The motorists in the State would have to pay more for their driving licence and other RTA documents as the e-seva authorities are contemplating to increase their services charges from Rs 35 to Rs 50 per transaction.

According to the sources, the authorities are contemplating to implement the revised rates from November 1. The Transport Department had made all its services (56 services) online during August, 2016 in its bid to simplify the procedure and curb corruption.

All the online applications of department are being processed by the e-seva centres in the city. The transport services provided by the e-seva like change of address of vehicle owner, transfer of ownership, issue of learners’ licenses, issue and renewal of driving license, hypothecation cancellation and registration of new vehicles and others. This is the third time in a year when the people are made to pay more for the RTA
services.

The Transport Department had enhanced the fee for all its services after Centre issued notification in January. The motorists allege that the e-seva centres, which need to give printed form to the applicants are turning them away stating that there is shortage of stationery, but at the same time collecting the prescribed fee.

The citizens are made to pay additional Rs 30 to Rs 40 to get the printed forms for their needs like driving license, renewal, etc.

Auto and Motors Welfare Association General Secretary M Dayanand said that the e-seva personnel are charging money without giving any service.
