Ravi Shankar and PremaLatha, a couple from Jeevangi village in Basherabadmandalhad no children even after twenty years of marriage. The couple adopted thebaby from BudagajangalaSayamma and Manikyappa, of the same
village.
The police intervened because the couple adopted the baby without following any legal procedure. Sub Inspector Lakshmaiahcounselledthe two couples and told them to follow the legal procedure for child adoption.
