Hyderabad : CPI State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy on Saturday demanded that the Telangana Government take immediate steps to fill 12,700 vacancies in Health Departments.

In a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, the CPI leader alleged that the State Government's claims on improvement of facilities in public hospitals were fake. He said several posts of doctors and para-medics were lying vacant in many government hospitals and the government showed no interest in filling them. He said all vacancies should be filled on war footing.

Venkat Reddy also demanded that the District Hospitals should be upgraded to Super Specialty Hospitals and all facilities should be provided in other government hospitals. He also asked the Chief Minister to clarify on the status of four proposed multi-specialty hospitals around Hyderabad.
