Hyderabad: With speculations rife on early elections by the end of 2018, the State government embarked on a major task of conceiving some more new schemes aiming to attract people in the next elections in the form of Vision 2024 document.
A group of officials from State Finance and Planning department were entrusted the task of preparing ‘Vision-2024’ document in which the State government would showcase Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s objectives in achieving ‘ Golden Telangana’ once the TRS retains power in 2019 elections. The vision document would be used for the preparation of TRS party manifesto.
The first step in the process for the preparation of Vision 2024 document is to look back at 2014 and identify the position of the State on various objective and verifiable developmental indicators. Based on the progress that has made in the last three years, a mid-term review will be undertaken.
The document will also analyse the schemes and programmes launched by the government after it came to power in 2014. Based on the critical review done in the vision 2024 document, the government will identify their strengths and weaknesses and bring changes if required.
The document will concentrate mainly on “Agriculture and allied sectors, economy, governance, industry and IT, infrastructure, regional development, social sector (health), social sector (education), social sector (skills) and social sector (welfare)”, officials said. The Centre for Good Governance would act as the nodal agency for the preparation of the document, they added.
