Telangana State Department of Tourism on Friday celebrated World Tourism Day along with the Paryatan Parv Programme, with fervour at the historic Taramati Baradari here.

Hyderabad: Telangana State Department of Tourism on Friday celebrated World Tourism Day along with the Paryatan Parv Programme, with fervour at the historic Taramati Baradari here.

The Department organised various events to highlight the social, cultural, political and economic values of the State. The Government, as part of Paryatan Parv, also showcased heritage monuments and structures at various tourist destinations of Telangana.

State Legislative Council Chairman K Swamy Goud stressed on the close linkage of culture and tourism in the State and how Telangana’s rich cultural heritage needed to be protected and projected well to make them major tourism attractions.

Tourism Minister A Chandulal highlighted the need to drastically improve the tourist arrivals in the State. He has said that tourism is needed for two reasons – for providing employment to the people and to become an engine of growth.
